Abstracts submissions closes: 3 October 2013
We encourage all CAASTRO researchers and students to submit abstracts for both talks and/or posters. There will be some fabulous prizes for the best talk, best student talk, best poster and best student poster.
NB: The retreat is free for CAASTRO members, however registration is required.

Frequently Asked Questions:
There has been a group reservation made at for all CAASTRO members and CAASTRO will cover the costs. Thus, there is no need for delegates to book accommodation. Rooms will be allocated once registration closes. Accommodation payments will come out of your node budget and will be arranged via your node.
All meals are covered by CAASTRO. If you have any dietary requirements, please ensure you make a note of these when you register for the retreat under the dietary information field.
A schedule of preferred flights is available here. We recommend catching these flights from each major city to Brisbane or Maroochydore. These flights will be met by a charter bus which will take you to the Novotel.
- Your node administrator may be able to assist with booking your flights. Flight payments will come out of the node budgets if you are a CI, Post Doc, Student or Professional Staff member
Charter buses will be available on Wednesday 19 November to take members to the resort and on Friday 21 November to return members to the airport or the University of Queensland. The bus will depart at 9:00am on Wednesday 19 November from Brisbane airport and the University of Queensland and 4:15pm on Friday 21 November returning to Brisbane airport and University of Queensland. For those members flying to Maroochydore transfers will be available according to demand. CAASTRO will cover the cost of bus.
Wireless access will be available in the conference rooms each day. However, please bring your own wireless access devices if you have critical work you will need to access or large amounts of data to download.
The Annual CAASTRO ECR and Student Workshop, being held prior to the CAASTRO Annual Retreat, is “Running a Successful Research Project”. The session will be run by Phil Crosby from CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science from 9:30am – 4:00pm at University of Queensland on Tuesday 18 November. Catering will be provided throughout the day.
