1.  Retreat Program:
 A brief overview:

  • Monday 20 November
    • Arrival of delegates for ECR, eLAMP and CAASTRO-CoEPP workshops

  • Tuesday 21 November
  •  Wednesday 22 November:
  • Buses depart airport
  • Arrival at Retreat Venue and Registration Commences
  • 11:30am -  6:00pm Science Program
  • 6:30pm Dinner
  • Thursday 23 November:
  • 8:30am – 3:00pm Science Program
  • 3:30 – 6:00pm CAASTRO Special Activity
  • Friday 24 November:
  • 8:45am – 3:00pmpm Science Program

2.  Accommodation: 
There has been a group reservation made at for all CAASTRO members.  Thus, there is no need for delegates to book accommodation.  Rooms will be allocated once registration closes.  Accommodation payments will come out of your node budget and will be arranged via your node.

3.  Meals: 
All meals are covered by CAASTRO.  If you have any dietary requirements, please ensure you make a note of these when you register for the retreat under the dietary information field on the registration form.

4.Getting There:


  • BUS TRANSFERS:
    • ECR/CAASTRO-CoEPP Delegates/eLAMP Delegates

       Delegates in Adelaide: Rydges South Park Adelaide, 1 South Terrace: The shuttle bus will depart from Rydges South Park Adelaide at 5:30pm.  The bus will depart from outside the hotel on South Terrace.  Please meet the bus by no later than 5:25pm so the bus can depart on time.

      Members arriving from Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney into Adelaide Airport (Adelaide Airport maps links please click for: Terminal Grounds Map and Terminal Interior Map): This transfer will depart at approximately 6:30pm.  Once you have disembarked, please make your way to the baggage claim area.  Kim Dorrell will be at the baggage claim area to meet you (she will be wearing a CAASTRO polo shirt and will be holding a CAASTRO Bus sign).  Please look out for Kim and wait with her until all members have assembled.  The driver will be waiting in the terminal and the bus will depart from the southern end of the domestic terminal in the Charter Bus area.  Debra Gooley and Kylie Williams will also be available upon their arrival from Sydney

      Members arriving from Canberra: Kylie Williams will meet you at the baggage claim area once you have arrived.  You will then be transferred to the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort.  Check-in will occur on arrival at the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort.

    • Annual Retreat - those members attending only the Annual Retreat from Wednesday 22 November

      Members arriving from Perth -  Tuesday 21 November 2017: This transfer will depart at approximately 3:30pm.  Once you have disembarked, please make your way to the baggage claim area.  Angela Dunleavy and Clare Peter will be at the baggage claim area to meet you (they will be wearing CAASTRO polo shirts and will be holding a CAASTRO Bus sign).  Please look out for them and wait with them until all members have assembled.  The bus will depart from the bus stops located at the front of T4.  The driver will be waiting in the terminal.  The bus will depart from the southern end of the domestic terminal in the Charter Bus area of Adelaide Airport.  

      Members arriving from Canberra and Sydney - Wednesday 22 November 2017: This coach will depart at 8:45am.  Once you have disembarked, please make your way to the baggage claim area located on Level 0.  Janette Ellis and Cristy Roberts will meet you at the baggage claim area (they will be wearing CAASTRO polo shirts and be holding a CAASTRO Bus sign).  Please look out for them and wait with them until all members have assembled.  The bus will depart from the Charter bus stops located at the southern end of the terminal.  The driver will wait near the baggage claim area and escort you to the bus.

      Members Arriving from Melbourne and Brisbane - Wednesday 22 November 2017: This coach will depart at 9:30am.  Once you have disembarked, please make your way to the baggage claim area located on Level 0.  Sue Lester will meet you at the baggage claim area (she will be wearing CAASTRO polo shirts and be holding a CAASTRO Bus sign).  Please look out for her and wait with her until all members have assembled.  The bus will depart from the Charter bus stops located at the southern end of the terminal.  The driver will wait near the baggage claim area and escort you to the bus.

  • WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS YOUR FLIGHT, GET LOST OR MISS THE BUS? Don’t panic!  In the first instance please contact the A-team member who is coordinating your transfer.  They will assist you if they can by providing directions or alternatives.  If you are unable to contact them please contact Kylie Williams (0412 037 492) or Kate Gunn (0411 466 080).  They will provide you with additional information and assist you where they can

5.  Childcare: 
Childcare will be available at the Retreat for infants and children under 5.  Please indicate in your registration if you require childcare or contact Kylie Williams if you have any questions.

6.  WiFi: 
Wireless access will be available in the conference rooms each day.  However, please bring your own wireless access devices if you have critical work you will need to access or large amounts of data to download.

ECR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

ECR Program
9:00 to 12:30  Building Your Personal Resilience/Managing Stress in the Workplace
: This program includes identifying practical approaches to applying and practicing resilience strategies and how to develop your awareness of stress, to use its helpful aspect, and to prevent or reduce its harmful aspect. The training will  develop an individual action plan for building personal resilience improve confidence and the ability to act effectively.
 
12:30 to 1:30 LUNCH
 
13:30 to 17:00 The Perfect Pitch:  The program will include a the 5 step model for pitching any idea, where logic is balanced with emotions. It will explore how to structure ideas and information to increase clarity and persuasiveness. It will also give an understanding how to address your audience and to effectively respond to questions.
 
Training is being provided by professional trainers from the University of Adelaide who have extensive background in their field of expertise.
 
We will offer an optional Yoga class in the morning at 7:15am and an engaging activity for the evening.
